An Acoustic Evening of Story & Song for Rural Communities

While County Route 84 plays a wide range of venues, we also offer a different kind of evening—an acoustic, story-driven gathering designed for small, intentional spaces across rural Western and Central New York.

These nights are built around songs shaped by real life—marriage, recovery, rural living, and faith lived quietly over time.

    The Heart Behind It

County Route 84 was formed from lived experience—rural life, long winters, recovery work, marriage under strain, and faith that has endured difficulty.

Our songs are not written about rural communities from a distance. They are written from inside them.

There is something powerful about small rooms and honest music.
    When defenses lower, conversations deepen.
When stories are shared without polish, connection often follows.

    What This Gathering Is

    • 75–90 minutes in length
    • Acoustic-forward (minimal production)
    • 8–10 songs woven with lived stories
    • Conversational tone rather than performance tone
    • Attendance intentionally capped (25–40 recommended)
    • Space provided for lingering conversation afterward

The aim is depth, not scale.

    Who It Serves

    • Couples navigating real life and long-term commitment
    • Leaders and caregivers who rarely exhale
    • Individuals in recovery or walking alongside it
    • Churchgoers longing for something more grounded and real
    • Neighbors who may not attend traditional spaces
    • Rural community members carrying quiet burdens

    Possible Settings

    • Community centers
    • Church fellowship halls (non-Sunday format)
    • Living rooms or home gatherings
    • Retreat spaces
    • Outdoor park gatherings (lawn-chair style)

The setting should support intimacy and conversation rather than stage elevation.

These gatherings are not performance-driven—they are experience-driven.

    Tone & Guiding Principles

    • Keep it small
    • Keep it honest
    • Minimal production
    • Connection over performance
    • Depth over visibility
    • Do not scale quickly
    • Protect authenticity

If it ever begins to feel rushed or overproduced, we pause.

If you’re looking to create a space where people can slow down, listen, and connect—this kind of evening may be a good fit.
